University of St Andrews Cheerleading Club have recently competed in two competitions, Future Cheer University Nationals in Manchester and Soar Reign Supreme in Edinburgh which has seen their Cheer season off with a bang.

Saints Cheer travelled to Manchester to compete at the Future Cheer University Nationals with four competitive teams coached by two student captains. The teams were Level 2 Stunt team, consisting of 22 members; Level 2 Group Stunt, consisting of 5 member; Level 3 Group Stunt, consisting of 5 members and the Pom team, consisting of 10 members. All four teams competed against other universities, and this competition was the first for many members.

Some of the highlights included the Level 2 Group Stunt hitting zero (which means they got no points deducted for things going wrong) and placed 4th out of 14! Another highlight was the Pom team, who put out an amazing performance as it is only the second year of having a Pom team at the University. The team placed 8th out of 25 teams!

Given that this was the first-time preforming for a lot of members as this is their first year at Cheer, the club is unbelievably proud of how well all the teams did, and so are we!

The following weekend, Cheer’s All Girls Level 2 and All Girls Level 3 Group Stunt competed at Soar Reign Supreme competition in Edinburgh. Both groups performed fantastically, placing second and first in their divisions, respectively.

Congratulations to the team for such amazing achievements! The season has only just started and we can’t wait to see how the rest of it goes!
