St Andrews Athletes Selected to Represent GB at World Rowing Beach Sprint Finals
The University of St Andrews will be proudly represented on the global stage this week as four members of its Boat Club compete for Great Britain at the 2025 World Rowing Beach Sprint Finals, held in Antalya, Turkey from 6–9 November.
Marking the first World Championships of the LA Olympiad, this prestigious event will feature four St Andrews rowers who are part of the GB Beach Sprint Performance Development Academy run in partnership between the University, Scottish Rowing and sportscotland.

- Cameron Buchan, racing in the Mixed Double (CMix2x). Known for his trademark power and coastal rowing expertise, Cam returns to international competition aiming to build on his quarter-final finish at the 2024 European Championships alongside Natacha Searson.
- Ryan Glymond (2023, MB ChB (ScotGEM) Medicine) and Natasha (Tash) Phillips, competing in the Mixed Quad (CMix4x+). Ryan will look to defend his Gold medal from last year’s event, with Tash joining a strong crew in pursuit of podium success.
- Colin Wallace, selected for the Inclusion Mixed Double (INMix2x), continuing his inspiring journey in adaptive coastal rowing.

These selections underscore the growing national impact of the University of St Andrews Coastal Rowing Programme, reinforcing its status as a GB Beach Sprint Performance Development Academy and Satellite Olympic Training Centre.

All senior GB crews competing in Antalya have benefited from training camps held in St Andrews over the summer. Special thanks go to the University staff who supported these camps, ensuring athletes had access to world-class facilities and resources.
