Director of Basketball selected as Great Britain Women’s U16 Assistant Coach

University of St Andrews Director of Basketball Callum Knox has been invited to join the Great Britain Women’s U16 coaching team ahead of next Summer’s Division A FIBA Youth EuroBasket tournament in Romania.

Callum will take on the role of Assistant Coach alongside Nottingham Wildcats’ Siobhan Prior under Head Coach Donnie MacDonald (Caledonia Gladiators).

Currently part of the FIBA Europe Coaching Certificate (FECC) program – one of the most prestigious coaching programs in European sport – Callum has been coaching Scotland Youth teams since 2015, most recently as Head Coach of both the Women’s U16 and Women’s U18 National Academy squads in 2023-24. Over the last five years he has delivered various courses as a Basketball Scotland Coach Educator, with a current focus on tutoring and assessing Coaches progressing through their ‘Team Coach’ award.

Callum has been coaching the University of St Andrews Women’s Basketball programme since 2014 and was appointed full time Director of Basketball in 2023. During his tenure he has overseen five British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) Scottish 1A league titles, two Scottish Basketball Championship (SBC) Cup final appearances and has been named Basketball Scotland Developmental Coach of the Year (2015).
