Our programmes are driven by local need and delivered in partnership with local agencies, governing bodies and NGOs, vital to ensure the activities are sustainable and that any new developments not only build upon existing initiatives, but are shaped by local stakeholders. Our local partners lead and direct all aspects of student involvement before, during and after their time in Africa to ensure they meet the needs of the organisation and their community.

This experience was undeniably one of the highlights of my time at St Andrews! Volunteering in Zambia allowed me to learn and grow with a group of like-minded students from across the country, while fully immersing ourselves in the varying communities of the placement opportunities available. I look back on the incredible learning opportunities, relationships I fostered (will forever fondly remember Chipata), and adventures from my summer in Zambia as one of the most formative experiences of my time at university.” Paige Onouye
