Arnold Palmer Golf Scholarships

Undergraduate/Postgraduate

In 2013 the University of St Andrews introduced its first ever golf scholarships. These scholarships have been introduced in order for Saints Golf to attract the very best student golfers from around the world and give them the greatest chance possible to achieve their golfing and academic dreams whilst in St Andrews.

We are incredibly fortunate to be only the second University in the world to be able to bestow upon a student an Arnold Palmer Scholarship. Mr Palmer’s relationship with St Andrews is legendary and was cemented in 2010 when he received his honorary doctorate from the University.

In our 600th anniversary year Mr Palmer generously gave his name to be able to help young student golfers flourish in the Home of Golf. The University held a 600th anniversary golf tournament in June 2013 and through strong fundraising support an endowment fund was created to fund this scholarship for the future.

We are actively fundraising for this endowment to allow the future of the scholarship to grow. The University is delighted to be launching our new ‘600 Club’ to support the development of student golf at the University. Over £200,000 has been raised to date, with £160,000 for the Arnold Palmer Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded to those who best embody the spirit of the man, the game and the University.
