What you will learn – course details

In one full day of training, participants will gain the essential knowledge and skills to respond quickly, safely, and effectively in a range of first aid emergencies, including:

  • Assessing an incident and prioritising response
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), including CPR and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) use
  • Managing unconscious casualties and placing them in the recovery position
  • Responding to choking, bleeding, shock, burns, fractures, and minor injuries
  • Recording and reporting workplace incidents appropriately
  • Understanding the roles, responsibilities, and legal duties of a workplace first aider

Training is engaging, supportive, and tailored for participants with varying levels of prior experience.

In one full day of training, participants will gain the essential knowledge and skills to respond quickly, safely, and effectively in a range of first aid emergencies, including:

  • Duration: 1 day (approximately 7 hours)
  • Certification: Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) – valid for 3 years
  • Assessment: Practical and multiple-choice evaluation
  • Location*: Saints Sport, University of St Andrews, St Leonards Road, KY16 9DY
  • Price: £70 per person (University of St Andrews Staff/Students are eligible for a discounted rate of £45per person)
